The Emberback Beetle is a scuttling insect of surprising size, though its chitinous carapace bears numerous cracks and battle scars from close calls with larger predators. Its most notable feature is a single, dim glowing gland on its underside, flickering weakly as if struggling to maintain its light. It mostly keeps to the shadowed crevices of forgotten ruins, seeking scraps and avoiding confrontation, a testament to its meager existence.
